- Three-season porches. All that glass is great for the view. But some newer windows have a thin metal coating that blocks WiFi, and there's an outside wall between the porch and the router.
- Detached garages and shops. A camera, a garage door opener or a radio out there needs WiFi too, and it's across the driveway from the router.
- Cabins built in stages. If your place was added onto over the years, the newest rooms are often the farthest from the router.
